Parent Visas

Parent Visas is generally for parents wishing to join their children in Australia. Some of these visa category offer pathways to permanent residency and are designed to facilitate family reunification.

  • Aged Parent visa (subclass 804): For aged parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents, this visa allows for permanent residency in Australia, providing an opportunity to live with family.
  • Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 884): Allows aged parents to live temporarily in Australia while their application for a permanent Contributory Aged Parent visa (subclass 864) is processed.
  • Contributory Aged Parent visa (subclass 864): Provides a pathway for aged parents to gain permanent residency in Australia. This visa is processed more quickly than the standard Parent visa.
  • Contributory Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 173): For parents who want to live in Australia temporarily while their permanent Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143) application is being processed.
  • Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143): Allows parents to live permanently in Australia. It offers a faster processing time compared to the standard Parent visa.
  • Parent visa (subclass 103): For parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents, this visa provides a pathway to permanent residency, though it may have a longer processing time.

Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 870): Allows parents to stay temporarily in Australia with the support of their child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
